In a welcome trend, Wyoming continues to witness a significant drop in average gasoline prices, providing respite for drivers across the state. Recent data indicates a notable decrease of 11.3 cents per gallon in the last week, bringing the current average to $3.37 per gallon. This information is based on a survey of 494 stations throughout Wyoming.

The present prices in Wyoming show a considerable reduction of 30.4 cents per gallon compared to one month ago and stand 18.7 cents per gallon lower than the prices recorded a year ago. This decline is mirrored nationally, with the average price of diesel falling by 4.2 cents in the last week, settling at $4.34 per gallon.

Analyzing the price reports reveals that, as of yesterday, the cheapest gas station in Wyoming was priced at $2.74 per gallon, while the most expensive was $4.06 per gallon, indicating a difference of $1.32 per gallon. This variance underscores the range of prices consumers may encounter as they refuel.

The national average price of gasoline has also experienced a downturn, decreasing by 4.6 cents per gallon in the last week and currently averaging $3.33 per gallon. This national average is down 24.8 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 42.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Taking a historical perspective, looking back over the past ten years, Wyoming’s gasoline prices on November 13, 2022, were $3.55 per gallon (U.S. Average: $3.76/g), on November 13, 2021, $3.41 per gallon (U.S. Average: $3.41/g), and on November 13, 2020, $2.15 per gallon (U.S. Average: $2.12/g).

Neighboring areas and their current gas prices include Fort Collins at $3.35 per gallon (down 7.6 cents from last week), Ogden at $3.44 per gallon (down 12.8 cents from last week), and Billings at $3.39 per gallon (down 16.2 cents from last week).

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, motorists in Wyoming and beyond can be thankful for this sustained decline in gasoline prices, marking eight consecutive weeks of relief at the pump. This trend is attributed to decreased gasoline demand, influenced not only by seasonal factors but also potentially impacted by emerging economic headwinds. The positive outcome is evident in the declining prices, providing a welcome benefit for consumers during the holiday season.
