Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary: A Haven for Animals Reclaiming Their Lives

Tucked away in the serene landscapes of Southeast Wyoming lies a remarkable haven known as the Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary. Spanning 1,200 acres of rolling hills, this sanctuary is home to hundreds of animals that have been rescued from laboratory facilities. What makes Kindness Ranch truly unique is its status as the sole facility in the United States dedicated to providing refuge for animals that were once subjects of clinical testing and research.

Kindness Ranch’s noble mission extends far beyond U.S. borders. During the summer, John Ramer, the executive director of the sanctuary, received a plea from another rescue organization regarding a group of dogs in China. These dogs had endured the rigors of research and were then tragically sold into the meat trade. The challenge of bringing these animals to safety was monumental, demanding collaboration and significant resources. However, Kindness Ranch stepped up to the plate and made it happen.

John Ramer elaborated on the effort, saying, “It’s so cost-prohibitive to bring animals from China to the States that a lot of facilities just can’t do it. We were fortunate enough to be in the position that we rescued four for a total cost of around $30,000. Just recently we heard about two more that need to come home.” Mr. Ramer is soon embarking on a journey to Los Angeles to welcome two additional beagles from China into the sanctuary.

Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary provides a second chance at life for dogs, cats, and rabbits through rehabilitation and unwavering compassion. These animals are given the opportunity to find forever homes with loving families. Meanwhile, the livestock that calls this sanctuary home enjoys a life of serenity and freedom, where they can roam and savor the peace they so rightfully deserve.

The sanctuary thrives on the support of volunteers, adopters, and animal advocates who share the belief in second chances and the power of kindness. It is a place where the lives of animals are transformed, and where hope is kindled.
